Winners & Prizes

In March 2017 the jury has selected the winners of the "From Space to Earth - Carbon Composites Contest". Please find the winners below


The winners will be awarded the following prizes:  
1st 1,500 € 
2nd 1,000 € 
3rd 500 € 
MVP: For German participants: Reimbursement of the travel costs and a visit to MT Aerospace including a guided tour through the facilities. Users from different countries will receive 500 €.

Congratulations to the winners, who put a lot of work into creating their ideas! A big thank you also goes out to all participants!

 

1st place:

Spacediver - CFK Drucktanks als Energiespeicher zum Ausgleich von kurzfristigen Produktionsschwankungen von Wind- und Solaranlagen

Jury statement: „This idea greatly elaborated the possibility of using our CFRP technology in the energy market. We can see a high potential in the area of short term energy storage and we believe that our technology fits to the application described.”

 

2nd place:

GavintaoComposite Submarine and Other Components

Jury statement: “Using components made with our technology for underwater applications where they have to withstand high pressure is a great idea! Gavintao made a great effort to show the various advantages of the technology in the use in submarines. We will look deeper into the benefits of using the technology and material in this setting.”

 

3rd place:

RebroCFRP Propulsion Shaft

Jury statement: “Making propulsion shafts with CFRP offers a lot of advantages. Rebro’s idea went into great depth in pointing out different use cases and the unique advantages of CFRP and our technology.”

 

MVP:

Sumit Goski

Jury statement: “Selecting the MVP wasn’t an easy decision, but we selected Sumit Goski as he submitted a lot of ideas that showed a good understanding of the technology. Most importantly, he provided the community with a lot of valuable feedback, supporting others in further developing their ideas.”
